La Cangreja Lodge is located in the Arenal Volcano area 8km from the town of La Fortuna which is considered the gateway to adventure. At La Cangreja Lodge, when the sky is clear you will have a wonderful view of the Arenal Volcano.

Near La Cangreja is the the small village of La Fortuna which has now grown into a bustling community offering a great selection of restaurants and shops.  A special feature you’ll find here is that no matter where one stands the spectacular view of the volcano is always available and on a clear day of course.

This lush green area is home to some astounding national parks and wildlife refuges like Cano Negro and the Palo Verde National Park. There are also hanging bridges for further nature exploration, waterfalls to visit, safari tours to take offering plenty of bird and wildlife viewing opportunities as well as kayak and rafting adventures.  For something a bit more low key visit the magnificent butterfly garden, spend time at the Arenal lake and take a boat out to do some fishing.

La Cangreja Lodge includes over 200 hectares of virgin forest, second-growth forest, pastures, natural gardens, peaceful rivers, grasslands and waterfalls. In our property you have a great view of the Arenal Volcano; lots of birds and a great variety of local trees, tropical plants, exotic animals, cows and more.  Guests may choose to pass the afternoon by the pool or read by the gardens.  Our kitchen prepares a delicious typical breakfast per day for our guests, with a focus on the regional cuisine of Costa Rica.

The spacious and comfortable Deluxe rooms and Junior Suites offer a perfect view of the active side of the Arenal Volcano.  The Deluxe rooms offer two queen size bed or one queen size bed, a private terrace or balcony as well as private bathroom and AC; the Junior Suites have all of the above as well as a Jacuzzi, and living room.
